To open a bank account you need your pass port with a valid visa, the registration confirmation from registration office Mittweida and your proof of enrolment in our university.

The banks recommend to bring with you money in cash or traveller checks. You can also use a visa card and draw money from your bank account after arrival for transfer to your new bank account here.

For all stays lasting longer as 3 months you need to register at the registration office of the town Mittweida (Einwohnermeldeamt). Without such a registration you are not allowed to open a bank account.

All student from out of the European Union and all student from EU with a stay of more as 3 months need to register additionally at the Foreigner´s registration office Mittelsachsen in the town Brand Erbisdorf. Applications for the registration will be handed out to you in the International Office.

From Mittweida you reach the office by going first to Freiberg and from bus station Freiberg take the bus F to Brand Erbisdorf.
