Since its launch in 2020 under the Erasmus+ framework, the BIP initiative has focused on combining theoretical and practical approaches to leadership, decision-making, and sustainable business strategies. This year, the University of Opole strengthened its EU partnerships with Hochschule Mittweida, University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați, Romania, reinforcing international collaboration and creating unprecedented opportunities for student mobility and intercultural learning. With participants from multiple institutions, Hochschule Mittweida contributed 23 students + 2 project leaders for this year, well above the minimum requirement, demonstrating the program’s growing significance and appeal. Through the blended format, students engaged in intensive workshops, group projects, and interactive sessions designed to enhance intercultural competence, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills—equipping them to thrive in a globalized professional environment. The programme is being run by Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Professor of International Entrepreneurship and Economics and Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, as part of the DAAD-funded projects ‘Internationalisation of German Universities’ and Strategic Communication for International Business and Sustainable Education Development (STRATCOMM), building on the success of the predecessor project ‘Economic Issues in an International Context (EIIC)’, which was funded by the DAAD in 2024/25. The project is supported and coordinated by Prof. Dr. rer. oec. Serge Velesco, Dean of Studies, Cooperative Study Programmes, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
This successful collaboration underscores Mittweida University of Applied Sciences' commitment to promoting international education, teaching the intercultural and professional skills required in today's interconnected global economy, and strengthening its role as an important partner in innovative Erasmus+ programmes.
